TRIGA Mark-II Research Reactor

چکیده
The present work gives a methodology for assessing radiological concentration of I, I, I, I, and I due to a hypothetical accident of TRIGA Mark-II research Reactor at AERE, Savar, Bangladesh. The concentrations were estimated through different pathways like ingestion of vegetation, milk, and meat from air and ground deposition. The maximum air concentrations for all 16 directions were found at 110 m distance from the core of the reactor and it was found to be highest in the southern (S) direction. The maximum ground concentration occurred immediately just after the accident in different directions. In all pathways, the most concentration was found to be in S-direction. The concentrations in vegetation of I, I, I were significant, while no concentrations of I and I were observed. The concentration in vegetation for I was found to be highest than all other isotopes of iodine. The concentrations of I were found to be higher and concentrations of I were observed to be lower in both milk and meat compared to other radio isotopes of iodine. In the case of a radiological accident, the results of the present study will be a valuable guide for adopting radiological safety measures for radiation protection against the ingestion of vegetables, milk and meat from around the research reactor at AERE, Savar, Bangladesh.

Numerical simulation of non-steady state neutron kinetics of the TRIGA Mark II reactor Vienna
This paper presents an algorithm for numerical simulations of nonsteady states of the TRIGA MARK II reactor in Vienna, Austria. The primary focus of this work has been the development of an algorithm which provides time series of integral neutron flux after reactivity changes introduced by perturbations without the usage of thermal-hydraulic / neutronic numerical code systems for the TRIGA reac...

In this work, it has been shown that the time dependent Xe inventory in the TRIGA Mark II reactor in Vienna, Austria can be measured via gamma spectrometry even in the presence of strong background radiation. It is focussing on the measurement of (but not limited to) the nuclide Xe. The time dependent Xe inventory of the TRIGA Mark II reactor Vienna has been measured using a temporary beam line...

The 250 kW TRIGA Mark II research reactor, Vienna, operates since 7 March 1962. The initial criticality was achieved with the first core loading of 57 fuel elements (FE) of same type (Aluminium clad fuel with 20% enrichment). Later on due to fuel consumption SST clad 20% enriched FE (s) have been added to compensate the reactor core burn-up. In 1975 high enriched (HEU) TRIGA fuel (FLIP fuel = F...

The 250kW TRIGA Mark II research reactor, Vienna, is equipped with experimental facilities inside and outside the reactor core. Outside the core, there are four beam tubes (three radial and one tangential beam tube), a thermal column and a neutron radiography collimator, supplying neutrons for irradiation experiments. These experiments include neutron radiography, neutron tomography, neutron ac...
متن کاملPresent Services at the Triga Mark Ii Reactor of the Jsi
The 250 kW TRIGA Mark II research reactor of the Jožef Stefan Institute (JSI) has been in operation since 1966. The reactor went critical on 30 May 1966. It is a light water reactor, with solid fuel elements in which the zirconium hydride moderator is homogeneously distributed between enriched uranium. The reactor core consists of about 70 fuel elements, which are arranged in an annular lattice...
